To participate in the Metrohm Australia – New Zealand Award competition

  • You must be an undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, or PhD student, enrolled at an academic institution located in Australia, East Timor, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands or Vanuatu
  • You must be a resident of one of the countries listed above at the date of submission through to September 2018.
  • Your work must demonstrate novel research or an innovative approach to the applications of titration, ion chromatography, spectroscopy, and/or electrochemistry, and must be substantially complete by the date of submission.

PARTICIPATION IN THE METROHM AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND AWARD
Eligibility Requirements and General Rules 

This contest is open to undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, or PhD students, enrolled at an academic institution located in

Australia
East Timor
Fiji
New Caledonia
New Zealand
Papua New Guinea
Samoa
Solomon Islands
Vanuatu
at the time of submission.

Residency required: eligible contestants must reside in one of the above countries at the time of submission and through to September 2018.

The winning research will be presented in Australia between July and September 2018.

Your work must demonstrate novel research or an innovative approach to the applications of titration, ion chromatography, spectroscopy, and/or electrochemistry, and must be substantially complete by the date of submission.

An abstract of your work, written in English, must be submitted online to Metrohm Australia with detailed contact information, and received by 31 May 2018.

Metrohm Australia is not responsible for any costs or problems in transmitting entries.

An objective panel of Metrohm Australia applications experts, whose decision is final and binding, will choose the winner by 30 June 2018.

Metrohm Australia will alert the winner by phone or email, as provided by the entrant at the time of abstract submission.

Metrohm Australia will provide the winner with transportation, lodging, and entry to the Award Event; costs for any travel companion(s) and all incidentals (as well as award taxes) are the responsibility of the winner.

The winner will present his/her work at a designated date/time (to be determined) at the Award Event, and be celebrated on a special occasion in the context of this event. Should the winner not agree to fulfill these presentation obligations, he/she therefore forfeits eligibility and a new winner will be chosen.

PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL METROHM  YOUNG CHEMIST AWARD
The winner of the  Metrohm Australia – New Zealand Young Chemist Awards will automatically participate in the international Metrohm Young Chemist Award, where three of them will be selected by a jury at Metrohm International Headquarters.

Metrohm International Headquarters will alert the winners of the first, second, and third prize of the international Metrohm Young Chemist Award by phone or email, as provided by the entrants at the time of abstract submission.

Metrohm International Headquarters will provide the winners with transportation and lodging to attend the award ceremony in Herisau, Switzerland; costs for any travel c companion(s) and all incidentals (as well as award taxes) are the responsibility of the winners.

The winners of the first, second, and third prize of the international Metrohm Young Chemist Award will present  their work at a designated date/time (to be determined) at the award ceremony at Metrohm International Headquarters in Herisau, Switzerland. Should the winners not agree to fulfill these presentation obligations, he/she therefore forfeits eligibility for the international Metrohm Young Chemist Award and a new winner will be chosen.

The Metrohm Young Chemist Award and international Metrohm Young Chemist Award are not open to any Metrohm employees, nor to family members or affiliates of Metrohm employees.

Metrohm International Headquarters, Switzerland is solely responsible for the International Metrohm Young Chemist contest and award.
