Rotating Ring-Disk Electrode (RRDE) for electrochemical measurements

Autolab Rotating Ring-Disk Electrode (RRDE) controlled by a PGSTAT204 potentiostat with a BA, dual-mode bipotentiostat module.

The Autolab Rotating Ring-Disk Electrode (RRDE) is a low-noise rotating ring disk electrode that can be used to perform electrochemical measurements under controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The ring and disc electrode assembly permits determination of reaction intermediates in situ through collection experiments.

Principal features of the Autolab RRDE:

  • Speed control: Manual or by NOVA software
  • Motor speed range: 100 — 10,000 rpm ± 1 rpm
  • Acceleration/deceleration: 4,000 rpm s-1
  • Maximum disc current: 500 mA
  • Maximum ring current: 50 mA
  • Contact: Double-sealed Hg pool
  • Electrode tips: Pt disk/Pt ring, Au disk/Pt ring, GC disk/Pt ring
  • Collection efficiency: 24.9 %
  • Electrode gap: 375 μm
