Modern Voltammetric & Amperometric Methods with Professor Jiri Barek - Possibilities and limitations

Free seminar on Voltammetric and Amperometric Methods [updated]

Metrohm Australia invites you to a Voltammetric and Amperometric Seminar in Melbourne together with Professor Jiri Barek of Charles University, UNESCO Laboratory of Environmental Electrochemistry from Prague, Czech Republic.

Monitor trace amounts of biologically active organic compounds

The presentation will be focused on recent applications of modern voltammetric and amperometric methods for monitoring of trace amounts of biologically active organic compounds. The advantages of electroanalytical methods will be discussed including, but not limited to, low cost, possibility of miniaturization, portability compatible with on-site measurements, point of care devices, large scale monitoring, compatibility with green analytical chemistry. Additionally, the critical comparison of bare and modified electrodes from a practical point of view will also be discussed.

Combine with separation methods

Possibilities of modern electroanalytical methods in combination with separation methods such as high performance liquid chromatography and/or capillary zone electrophoresis with electrochemical detection to increase selectivity, or flow injection and/or sequential injection analysis to increase through-put, will be demonstrated.

Scope and limitation of electrochemical sensors/biosensors

Scope and limitation of electrochemical sensors/biosensors together with their advantages and disadvantages will be mentioned.

Fascinating possibilities

An attempt to compare fascinating possibilities of modern separation and spectrometric methods with modern electroanalytical methods from the point of view of practical applicability will be done together with evaluation of their practical applicability to answer different questions in modern analytical chemistry. The obvious and imaginary disadvantages of electroanalytical methods will be discussed together with their possible overcoming.

Outlook

At the end, Prof. Jiri Barek will provide a personal view on future developments in the field of modern electroanalytical methods.
