Conductivity measurement. Get it right!

Conductivity Measurement. Get it right!

When 5 rings are better than 3: Wider measuring ranges and higher precision in conductivity.

Conductivity: different samples require different probes

Conductivity is a staple of laboratory analysis. Water, petroleum, mining and chemical processes all require it. However, measurement in different samples require different probes.

And not all conductivity probes are created equal.

Each conductivity probe will have it’s own working range. Those designed for use with low ionic strength waters, such as ultra-pure water, are rarely suited to use with sea water, as an example.

Temperature, positioning of your probe in a beaker, conductivity of your previous sample and measuring pH in the same beaker will all have an effect on the speed and accuracy your analysis.
